The story

It started in 2015, in a workshop in Switzerland. With one observation: municipalities and collectors often had to call four different suppliers for a single container. One for the lock, one for the sensor, one for the software, and someone else again for the service.

We thought it could be done better. So we built it ourselves — hardware, software, card readers, technicians — all under one roof. One number, one contact, one team that knows the whole chain.

Four years on, we're in 90+ municipalities. Not because we shout the loudest, but because we pick up when you call.

Does BWaste technology fit my existing containers?
Yes. Our card readers, motor locks and sensors are designed for retrofit. We carry out an on-site assessment to make sure everything fits.
What if my current card readers still run on 2G?
2G is being phased out across Europe. Our card readers run on 4G and 5G — future-proof for decades to come. We'll help you with a migration path.
Does XLWaste integrate with our current management software?
The platform follows open standards and connects with most common industry systems. We're happy to discuss custom integrations.
How quickly are you on site when there's a fault?
We resolve many reports remotely via the portal first. For physical interventions we work with response times aligned to your SLA — agreed at contract.
Do we manage the cards and users ourselves?
Yes. Card management is entirely in your own hands via XLWaste — create cards, link them to containers, block them — without needing us in the loop.
Is your hardware really sustainable?
Our battery packs are 100% recyclable — the plastic housing is processed into granulate after use and produced anew. Components are modular, so a failure never means a throwaway part.
